US Aid Back Up Prompts Lockheed to Tout Israel Jets

United States company Lockheed Martin Corporation, the maker of the famous F-35 Joint Striker Fighter is currently lobbying Israel in order to close a deal with their jet. Israel has found itself in the middle of the global financial crisis and thanks to its ample defense aid coming from the United States, it has become a hot target for most companies. Apparently, Israel is not a company that has a full partner nation in charge of the F-35 production. Then again, it is also part of the group of United States allies that is set to have their first pick next decade among the radar-evading and multipurpose planes. Such a plane like the F-35 can actually be the Israeli's key to bulwark themselves not just against its greatest enemy Iran, but other enemies as well.

Deal with Israel Slated to Be Approved Next Year

Many United States officials have fore casted sales to the Israeli nation sometime early next year. Some funding for the jets  - which amount to around forty million dollars per piece – would actually come from the defense grants of the United States. This defense grant amounts to around thirty billion dollars between ten years from 2007 till 2017. Many Israeli officials have also quietly voiced out their reluctance over being rushed into making a deal with them, given that there are some ongoing discussions regarding how Israeli technologies could actually be incorporated into the Lockheed planes, as well as their delivery schedule and also the pricing of the machinations.

Intentions to Address Israeli Concerns

Robert Stevens, Chief Executive of Lockheed Martin, mentioned during one of his visits to Israel that their concerns could actually be better addressed by way of finalizing an actual sale.
